Workshop: Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility

As part of Sustainability Contested, the Essex Sustainability Institute and Essex Business School are hosting a free half-day workshop focused on corporate approaches to sustainability and responsibility on Monday 19 November.

The concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability have become mainstream issues in business and management, but some critics wonder whether these have become hollow concepts or simply marketing exercises. Two high-profile speakers with extensive experience in the corporate world will share their reflections on whether small, medium-sized and big companies can contribute to solving the environmental and social challenges the planet now faces. The main speakers are Will Sambrook from UK environmental charity the Green Light Trust and Albert Low from My Duc Ceramics in Vietnam, which has pioneered environmentally friendly production processes in the Far East.

The workshop will be held at the University of Essex’s Colchester Campus from 2pm to 5pm, in room 5N.3.2. Attendance is free, but prior registration is required. To register, please click through to: essexcorporatesustainability.eventbrite.co.uk
